A day on a Anchor milk truck in Gisborne

In early Term 3, KickStart Breakfast Relationship Manager Rosy joined one of our local Gisborne Anchor milk drivers Rob on a milk delivery run all the way up the Gisborne Coast! 'There's lots of moving parts with the KickStart Breakfast Breakfast, and we're always learning, so we can provide the best service to our schools. It was a great opportunity to learn more about the role our Local Anchor milk Teams play in delivering Anchor milk.' says Rosy 'and the beautiful location & weather was a bonus too!'

Rob - Gisborne

Each term, our 50+ local Anchor milk teams deliver milk to our almost 1,400 KickStart Breakfast Schools nationwide. Each region is unique - our milk teams & KickStart Breakfast relationship managers work hard to ensure that we're servicing every school - no matter the location! (Including the three Chatham & Pitt Island schools!). All the way up the Gisborne Coast is Potaka School, almost 200km from the milk depot! Arriving at Potaka School to drop the term's Anchor milk supply - we were greeted with big smiles, and a school goat (we now think all schools need a school goat!). Stopping off at 11 schools and kura along the way, I was able to learn about some amazing Breakfast / Parakuihi clubs - meeting passionate volunteers who help facilitate and run their programmes daily so tamariki and rangatahi have a safe place to meet, kōrero & have a nutritious breakfast to start the day.

Rob and the wider Gisborne Anchor milk team are passionate about putting quality nutrition into the hands of those who need it, and it was great to see that in action! A big thanks to Rob and all the schools & kura we stopped in along the way! Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou mō tō kōrero.
